Panoweaver has been around for a long time, in fact we reviewed it in 2003, but with the release of this latest version, 4.0, we thought it was worth revisiting the software to see what was new. Was it worth the visit? Absolutely.

Those of you who are interested in creating virtual tours would know that there are many products available out there to assist you in making your tours. In my opinion, however, you can't go past Panoweaver from the EasyPano people, it has all the bells and whistles and gets the job done efficiently. Panoweaver is a professional tool that allows you to stitch digital images together to create 360-by-360 panoramas. And, best of all, it does it quickly.

Some of the new features in Version 4.0 include support for more SLR cameras, a higher resolution output capability, faster stitching algorithms, support for full frame fisheye images and drum fisheye images from SLRs, six-cube face stitching, the ability to integrate up and down fisheye images for adding sky and ground, prestitching, the ability to save stitching settings, overlap blending width adjustment controls to balance color contrast, a zoom range from 12.5% to 800%, full screen QTVR mode, and scalable working panels. Add to this an automatic update checking feature and this version turns into much more than a mere "bug fix" release .

Panoweaver boasts customers in various arenas from Real Estate to Museums to Restaurants and quite rightly so, as these days more and more people are virtual shopping on the Internet before they put a foot outside their doors. I have mentioned before that I found the house I am living in by browsing Real Estate listings online. Virtual tours are not something businesses should ignore, they can't really afford to any longer.

I heartily give Panoweaver 4.0 a thumbs up ... in short, Panoweaver rocks ... its easy to use (any first time user will find the interface very easy going) ... its a quality product and I would have to say it is one of the best Virtual Tour packages I've come across.
